Under One Sky:
Stars, Covenant and Sacred Constellations
Long before electric light, December belonged to the stars.

*Orion Constellation with Meteors and Sky Full of Bright Stars
In Christianity, the Star of Bethlehem guided seekers across desert terrain.
In Judaism, Abraham is told to look up and count the stars, a promise of continuity and covenant.
In Islamic tradition, stars guide travelers across vast landscapes, signs of divine order written into creation.
The heavens have always spoken. Sacred architecture mirrors them. Domes reflect the sky. Rose windows echo the cosmos.
The eight-pointed star is a symbol that unites all faiths. It appears again and again across traditions, a symbol of renewal, transcendence, and divine order. It represents the “eighth day,” a beginning beyond the natural cycle.

The eight point star is a quiet reminder that renewal is always possible. When we wear these symbols of sacred geometry, we carry a fragment of that order. A small constellation resting over the heart. Next time you are in a spiritual place, look for the eight point star!
This time of year brings that meaning closer for me.
Christmas has always been a time of gathering. Of returning. Of stepping out of the pace of daily life and into something more rooted and enduring.
I will be spending it with family, coming together across generations, sharing meals, stories, and the traditions that have been passed down over time. There is something deeply grounding about those moments.
Midnight Mass has always been at the center of it. The stillness of the church. The glow of candlelight. The quiet anticipation just before midnight. And then, the recognition of what the season represents, the birth of Jesus, a moment of light entering the world. It is both solemn and joyful. Intimate and expansive.
A reminder that renewal does not arrive all at once. It begins quietly. In light. In gathering. In faith. And in the small rituals we return to each year.
Stand outside one December night.
Find Orion. Find the North Star. Let your breath slow. We are smaller than the sky. And yet deeply known within it.
Pacem is a prayer for peace, translated through metal and light.
I’m so glad you’re here.
